Magician and Mind Reader for Events Across the UK

I'm Darren Sarsby, a London-based magician and mind reader performing at corporate events, weddings and private parties across the UK. My job is simple: to give your guests a moment they did not expect and will still be talking about after the event.

I reached the final of Britain's Got Talent with my telepathy act, The Gift. I have also worked across television and live entertainment, including co-directing Dynamo's 2025 Live Show and consulting on productions such as Dynamo Is Dead and Miracles.

Why Book Me for Your Event?

I do not believe in turning up with exactly the same routine for every booking. A formal awards dinner, a busy networking reception and an intimate wedding all need a different approach.

Before the event, I look at who will be there, how the room will be used and where entertainment will fit most naturally. On the day, I adjust to the audience in front of me. That might mean keeping things relaxed and conversational during drinks, bringing the whole room together for a focused stage set, or helping the evening move smoothly as a host.

Magic works best when it creates a genuine connection. It gives people an easy reason to talk, breaks down the usual social barriers and creates a shared memory without asking guests to take part in anything awkward or forced.

Choosing the Right Type of Performance

If your guests will be moving around, drinking or networking, close-up magic is usually the best fit. If everyone will be seated and you want one moment for the whole room, a headline performance works better. If you need someone to guide the evening as well as entertain, I can combine hosting and performance in one booking.

Close-Up Magic and Mind Reading

Close-up magic is performed among your guests, usually during arrivals, drinks, networking, between courses or while photographs are being taken. There is no stage and no need to stop the event. I move naturally between small groups and perform only a few feet away, often using choices or objects from the guests themselves.

This is a strong option when you want to lift the atmosphere and help people connect. It works equally well at a corporate reception, wedding drinks reception or private celebration because it fits around whatever is already happening.

Corporate Magician and Mind Reader

I perform at conferences, gala dinners, awards evenings, networking events, client entertainment, product launches and company celebrations. Corporate audiences can be hard to win over, especially when the room includes different levels of seniority, international guests or people who have attended many similar events before.

The performance can be relaxed and conversational or polished and formal depending on the brand and the occasion. I can work among guests during a reception, deliver a headline performance for the full room, or combine both formats across the event.

Headline and Stage Performances

A headline performance is a focused magic and mind-reading show created for the whole audience to watch together. It is best suited to events with a stage or a clear performance area, such as gala dinners, award ceremonies, conferences and product launches.

The aim is to create one strong centrepiece without taking over the rest of the schedule. The length and style can be shaped around the running order, the size of the audience and the atmosphere you want in the room.

Wedding Magician

As a wedding magician, I usually perform during the drinks reception, while photographs are being taken, between courses at the wedding breakfast or during the early part of the evening reception.

Weddings bring together family, friends and colleagues who may not know each other. Close-up magic gives them an instant shared experience and helps conversation happen naturally. It fits around the wedding day without requiring the timetable to be rebuilt around a performance.

For couples who want a bigger moment later in the day, close-up magic can also be combined with a short performance for the full room.

Private Party Magician

I perform at birthdays, anniversaries, engagement parties, family gatherings and other private celebrations. These events are personal, so I tailor the performance to the venue, the guest list and the kind of atmosphere you want.

Close-up magic is usually the most natural choice for a private party because it allows everyone to be involved without stopping the celebration. For a larger gathering, I can also add a performance that brings all the guests together for one shared moment.

Event Hosting

I can also host an event from start to finish, managing introductions, speeches, awards and transitions while adding magic and mind-reading moments at the right points.

This can make the evening feel more connected and gives you one person responsible for both the flow of the event and the entertainment. It is particularly useful for awards nights, gala dinners and company celebrations with several parts to the running order.

A Little More About Me

Alongside being a Britain's Got Talent finalist, I am a BAFTA-nominated performer and have worked behind the scenes on major magic productions. Co-directing Dynamo's 2025 live show gave me the opportunity to help shape a full theatrical production, not simply perform within one.

That wider experience influences the way I approach live events. I think about structure, timing, audience attention and how each moment fits into the bigger picture. It also means I can work with brands, production teams and organisers who need creative input beyond a standard performance booking.

I also offer tailored corporate workshops, creative collaborations and entertainment curation for selected projects. These are planned around the brief and usually begin earlier in the event or production process.

Close-up magic is performed among small groups of guests and fits around drinks, networking or dinner. A stage or headline performance is watched by the full audience at the same time and works best when the event has a clear performance area.

Yes. Many events benefit from close-up magic during the reception followed by a short headline performance later in the evening. I can recommend the right combination once I understand the schedule and guest numbers.

Close-up magic is often booked for one to two hours depending on the number of guests and the running order. A headline performance is usually a shorter, focused set. The timing can be adjusted to fit the event rather than forcing the event to fit a fixed show.

Yes. I am based in London and travel across the UK for corporate events, weddings and private bookings.

Yes. I regularly work with mixed corporate audiences and adjust the tone and delivery to suit the room. The performance is interactive and visual, which helps it work naturally with guests from different backgrounds.

Yes. References, themes and selected moments can be adapted to suit a brand, product launch or event. More involved creative concepts can be discussed as a separate collaboration.

For close-up magic, I bring everything I need. A stage performance may use the venue's sound and lighting equipment, so I will confirm any requirements with the organiser or production team in advance.

The fee depends on the location, event type, performance format and length of the booking. Send me the main details of your event and I will provide a tailored quote.

It is best to enquire as soon as your date and venue are confirmed. Popular wedding dates, gala evenings and headline performance slots can book well in advance.
